Jenna Gray brings a deeply relational, whole-person approach to her work with clients navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, and the lasting effects of painful life experiences. With more than five years in the field, she specializes in trauma treatment and experiential therapy β meeting each person not just through conversation, but through the creative and body-based approaches that so often reach what words alone cannot.
Jenna's clinical home is trauma-focused care, with particular expertise in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a well-researched approach for helping the mind and body process and heal from distressing memories. She draws on a rich range of modalities β including CBT, DBT, Internal Family Systems, Gestalt, and psychodrama β and weaves in expressive therapies like play, art, sand tray, and mindfulness. This flexibility lets her tailor the work to each client, whether that's a woman carrying an old trauma, a child moving through a difficult season, or a family finding its way back to one another.
Much of Jenna's experience centers on women and children. She has served as a lead trauma therapist for survivors of abuse, supported students as a school-based counselor through play and art therapy, and worked with children processing divorce and emotional distress. Across every setting, her aim is the same: to create a safe, steady space where clients feel seen, understood, and free to heal at their own pace.
Jenna holds a Master of Arts in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling from Denver Seminary and is licensed as a Professional Counselor in Alabama and a Mental Health Counselor in Florida. She is the founder of The Gray Area Therapy and is glad to now be offering care to individuals and families in the Montgomery area.
