Jonathan is an Associate Licensed Counselor with more than 11 years of experience in the mental health field, with much of his professional experience focused on addiction, recovery, and helping individuals navigate the challenges that often accompany behavioral and mental health concerns. He works with individuals and families facing anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and challenges related to the justice system.
Jonathan believes effective counseling begins with a safe, nonjudgemental relationship where clients can be honest about where they are and supported in identifying where they want to go. His approach is person-centered and incorporates Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based strategies.
His experience in addiction and recovery has shaped his belief that people are more than the struggles they are experiencing. Jonathan works alongside clients as they develop practical skills, build confidence, process difficult experiences, and create meaningful and sustainable change.
Jonathan earned his Bachelorβs degree in Community, Family, and Addiction Sciences and his Masterβs in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling at Texas Tech University.
He is practicing under the supervision of Sarah McCrory, LPC-S.
